The Information Design Tool in SAP BusinessObjects 4.0 is a new modeling tool for the semantic layer that enables you to manipulate metadata from relational and OLAP sources, and to create and deploy SAP universes. Classic universe features have been redeveloped and incorporated in the Information Design Tool in the new release.

With the release of SAP BusinessObjects 4.0, we all want to be able to utilize the new features, but some of those new features require that you convert existing universes or build new universes to the new 4.0 format. This webinar will specifically highlight the differences between the classic Universe Design Tool format (UNV) and the new Information Design Tool format (UNX) and explain the benefits you will receive from migrating to this new format. During the webinar a universe will be developed within the Information Design Tool showing the development process and highlighting changes between the two tools.

Extract tables and joins to build a relational schema called a data foundation
Share resources to allow multiple designers to work on the same resources concurrently
Publish a universe which compiles the business layer, the data foundation and the connections into a single universe file (UNX)
